The Youth Ministry and its leaders model ‘living the faith’ and remind young people of the ever-present love and mercy of God. Through its courses based on the Journey to Adulthood program, which balances Bible study, prayer, and both serious and playful activities, the Youth Ministry endeavors to nurture the whole person during the complex passage from childhood to adulthood. The courses take place every Sunday during French school term-time.
Rite-13 (11-13 years old) focuses on celebrating the individuality of each young person and their creative potential, while helping youth explore the many facets of adolescence and offers a chance to discover how faith can guide and shape the journey to adulthood. The Rite-13 liturgy (A Celebration of Manhood and Womanhood) is the community expression of this and a rite of passage from childhood towards adulthood.
J2A (14-15 years old) engages youth with the skills and critical thinking involved in adulthood. The youths plan and embark on a pilgrimage together at the end of this segment, which often marks the spiritual highlight of their youth.
YAC - Young Adults in the Church (16-18 years old) is a mentor-based program that helps older teens discern and carry out a ministry within the church or in the larger community. Vocation and development of a personal credo are also emphasized. A final rite of passage sends the youth out into the world as ambassadors of Christ.
The Youth Ministry also organizes monthly evening activities which all teens are welcome to attend.
