Started in 2015 by a group of volunteers on the Love In A Box (LIAB) project to address the need for warm items for infants and children in the boxes, individuals get together on the third Wednesday of each month to knit everything from baby booties and scarves to blankets and jackets. All wool supplies are purchased by the group or come from outside donations.
Currently, a large part of what is knit is given to The Sisters of Charity organisation, but parish “in-reach” is also part of their mission. When a parishioner loses a husband or child, she is given a lap afghan, and when a newborn arrives, parents receive a pair of baby booties.
For more information on how to get involved or make a wool donation please contact the parish office.
