Mission Matters: Hampaté Bâ School "Food for Thought" Program

The Mission and Outreach committee would like to thank all of the parishioners and guests who attended the "Awareness-raising" event for the Hampaté Bâ school "Food for Thought" program on Friday evening. We would also like to thank those who could not make it but were interested and supportive of our Hampaté Bâ outreach mission in Niger.

This event attracted a small but passionate crowd from the Cathedral who were extremely supportive of the “Food for Thought” initiative, which seeks to ensure that 60 underprivileged girls on scholarship can eat lunch with their classmates. This project is part of a collaboration between the Cathedral’s Mission and Outreach ministry and the Friends of Hampaté Bâ, whose mission is to improve learning outcomes, reduce female dropout rates, and promote human excellence in Niger.

By promoting and financing the development of the school, and providing grants, the Friends of Hampaté Bâ help underprivileged youth in Niger become a positive and responsible force within the community.

Help the Friends of Hampaté Bâ continue their fight for social justice, transformative education, and neighborhood revitalization by visiting their website and donating here.
