The Junior Guild is holding a luncheon on Tuesday, May 16 at 12:15 p.m., prepared by JG member Sigun Coyle. We will be welcoming as our guest speaker Dr. Hilary Kaiser, Ph.D., an oral historian and Associate Professor emerita at the University of Paris. Along with interesting anecdotes and information, Hilary will present an entertaining presentation on French war brides of both World War I and World War II, based on archival research in both the U.S. and France, and oral history interviews. Hilary's book on the subject, "French War Brides: Mademoiselle and the American Soldier", will be coming out in a new paperback and e-book edition in May. Hilary will be bringing along copies of her book, and will be happy to sign them for us. All parishioners are invited to attend.
The deadline for sign-up is Friday evening, May 12. Please RSVP to our Membership Chair, Katrina Neal-Hamel: phone 06 77 28 98 69, or 01 72 53 65 28, or by replying to Katrina's e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. Price is 15 Euros, payable at the door.
