Les Dimanches Musicaux: Duo SoliPse, September 29th

DuoSolipsePhoto.jpg

The Duo SoliPse was formed in 2011 by flutist Elena Stojceska and guitarist Romain Petiot. They have performed in various cities and festivals in France, the Czech Republic and Italy such as the festival of Arromanches, the "Maskfest" festival in San Marino, the "Forfest" festival in Kromeritz, the Château de Bosmelet, Châtellerault, Livry-Gargan and different venues in Paris.

The flute/guitar chamber music combination has drawn interest among composers since Astor Piazzolla and his Histoire du tango. Hence, the Duo SoliPse tend to play essentially XXth and XXIst century music including pieces by composers such as Doïna Rotaru, Massimiliano Messieri, Toru Takemitsu or Edison Denisov. On the other hand, the Duo SoliPse is also inclined towards folk inspired music from Béla Bartók, Dusan Bogdanovic, Miroslav Tadic, Ravi Shankar...

This concert is part of the Les Dimanches Musicaux, a series of free Sunday concerts organised by the Cathedral's musical association, Les Arts George V. To find out more, or for the full programme, visit the LAGV website here
