January 21: “My Year in Lambeth Palace.”
Sunday Forum, 9:45am in the Fleetwood Room, American Cathedral in Paris.
As we mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, French journalist Agnès Vanhems describes a year spent in Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishops of Canterbury, as part of a new modern monastic and ecumenical community created by Lambeth’s current occupant, the Most Reverend Justin Welby. A lifelong Roman Catholic, she was invited to spend ten months living with 15 other young people from around the world and from various Christian confessions. The community’s daily pattern of life centered on prayer, study and service. In this Forum, Agnès shares some glimpses of this inspiring, deepening and challenging year in Lambeth and then explores the ways in which it continues to shape her life today.
Our weekly Sunday Forum is an opportunity to discuss and explore topics ranging from politics to spirituality, economics, and literature with fascinating speakers and other interested individuals.
