Sunday Forum, July 1
“Race, Film and Reconciliation”
Sunday Forum, 9:45am in the Fleetwood Room, American Cathedral in Paris.
This summer while at the American Cathedral, Theologian-in-Residence Greg Garrett is writing a book on race and American film for Oxford University Press. In this Forum, he shares with us some of what he’s learned from his two years of research and from curating a national program on race and film at Washington National Cathedral. He’ll also consider how the Christian tradition intersects with the themes of films from Birth of a Nation (1915) to Get Out (2017).
Our weekly Sunday Forum is an opportunity to discuss and explore topics ranging from politics to spirituality, economics, and literature with fascinating speakers and other interested individuals.
