In this forum, long-time parishioner and recently appointed Youth Ministry Coordinator Simon Allatt explores the idea of vocation, which has been at the centre of his faith journey since, at the age of 15, he first felt that God was calling him to serve. Now on the path to ordination, Simon will share his experience of calling and of the discernment process in the Church of England and the ways in which his work with young people at the American Cathedral as well as with the Robes Project for the homeless, in London, are at the heart of his preparation for ordination. Finally, Simon will suggest some broader reflections for all of us as Christians, whether lay or ordained: what does vocation mean and how do we know when we are being called to serve? How do we respond?
Sunday, September 16, 9:45am in the Fleetwood Room of the American Cathedral.
