Friday Mission Lunch

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.”
— Matthew 25:35

The Friday Mission Lunch provides a hot, nutritious, homemade meal to 64 guests every Friday of the year. Guests are served at the table in an atmosphere of compassion and dignity. All persons are welcome. The only requirement for both guests and volunteers is that they sign up. Each week the ministry engages 10-15 volunteers to help prepare the meal, set-up the dining room, welcome our guests, serve the meal and clean up the kitchen. This activity ministers to those new to Paris or looking to become part of a community through volunteering.

There is a very mature collective and ecumenical collaboration from the four other participating churches/synagogue and the Association of American Wives of Europeans (AAWE). The ministry attracts volunteers from companies and higher education groups and provides exposure to our core principles of welcome and love for all.

No experience is required to come and help! You are guaranteed to make friends as you help chop, set up, or dry dishes.  We are especially looking for people who love to cook to join our pool of chefs and help carry on the tradition of delicious, nutritious and beautiful meals served each week.

Please note that sign up occurs once a month for a limited number of volunteer spots; it is not uncommon to not be given an immediate assignment. Do not be discouraged - please continue to sign up!
