Volunteer Today!

Volunteering is the lifeblood of the Cathedral. Without our volunteers, many of the wonderful programs at the American Cathedral would not exist. Get involved today and help maintain the Cathedral as a place of vibrant community.

Here are a few ways you can volunteer at the Cathedral:

Front Desk volunteers help to keep the Cathedral secure, answer questions, greet visitors, and generally provide the friendly and helpful face of the Cathedral to the public. Contact cathedral.office@americancathedral.org.

Parish Life volunteers coordinate and organize parish events offering fellowship, food and fun, often around seasonal and liturgical celebrations. Contact parish.coordinator@americancathedral.org.

Sunday School at the Cathedral is fully run by volunteers, with teachers and assistants who offer their time and efforts to help children learn more about the Christian faith. Find out more about joining the Sunday School team at the welcome desk, or contact us by email cathedral.sundayschool@gmail.com.

Youth Ministry Assistants: The Sunday gatherings for young are offered in two age-appropriate groups, based on the French school divisions—Youth Collège and Youth Lycée. We are seeking assistants who can assist in the teaching and leading of those groups, especially for Youth Collège at 11am. Your commitment would involve leading/teaching the group twice each semester on a Sunday morning, more frequently if you are able.  You will work closely with Mary Haddad and Simon Allatt, youth coordinator, who will help to prepare you for the sessions. This is a great way to deepen your own path, by engaging with others.  We will offer ongoing training sessions in the fall. Contact Canon Mary Haddad, maryehaddad@gmail.com.

Ushers play an important role in welcoming both first-time visitors and long-time members of the congregation at most services of the Cathedral. They assist with the logistics of the worship service in distributing the order of service bulletins, collecting the offering and directing worshippers during communion. Additionally, they assist with safety procedures, including fire or other emergencies. Contact jbossonney@gmail.com.
