Cathedral Forum: Hearing Matthew

Our Sunday lectionary runs in a three-year cycle, with each year (imaginatively designated years A, B, and C) organised around one of the first three gospels: Matthew, Mark, and Luke. As we start a new liturgical year this Sunday, parishioner Bill Tompson presents an overview of the Gospel of Matthew, which will frame our Sunday lectionary readings for the year ahead (year A, in case you were wondering). Come find out what we [think we] know about the origins of this gospel, about its distinctive themes and emphases, and—above all—about what you can listen for it as you hear it read week by week at the Cathedral.

This is a hybrid forum; please join us in the Parish Hall or on Zoom. Email Bill Tompson at william.tompson@gmail.com to receive your Zoom invitation.
