In our final Forum of the programme year, Rabbi Tom Cohen of the Kehilat Gesher Synagogue here in Paris offers a Jewish perspective on what me might call the formation of the canon: how/when/why were the texts that ‘made the grade’ and became the Hebrew Scriptures, the Tanakh, chosen? By whom? Which were controversial? What didn’t make the cut?
