We Pray, We Love, and We Trust
Friends, as we receive the results of this election, let’s take a moment to root ourselves in what remains constant: we pray, we love, and we trust, leaning on God’s love just as Jesus taught us.
Our true hope doesn’t rest in any political leader—it rests in Christ.
Because we are grounded in Jesus, we always move forward with resilience and hope.
Let’s continue to pray, to love, and to share Jesus' Good News with those around us. We are called to be lights in the darkness, a source of life and truth.
No election outcome changes our mission or the love we carry forward. So, we move forward with confidence—not because of what has happened, but because of who holds us.
Let’s keep praying, loving, and leaning into the work God has given us, trusting that God’s grace is more than enough. Amen.
A Prayer for Social Justice (Book of Common Prayer, p. 823)
Grant, O God, that your holy and life-giving Spirit may so move every human heart, that barriers which divide us may crumble, suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease; that our divisions being healed, we may live in justice and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
If you are looking for a space to pray in community, please join us in-person this evening at the Cathedral for our lay-led services. At 7:00 p.m. we will gather for prayer, scripture, poetry and fellowship at Evening Prayer. At 9:00 p.m. we offer Contemplation and Compline, the night prayers of the church and a time for centering, quiet, and reflection.
All are welcome to join us this Sunday, November 10th, at 11:00 a.m. for our Holy Eucharist (in person and online) with Bishop Mark Edington as our preacher.
After the Sunday service, we will join together as a community in joy and solidarity to fill backpacks with thoughtful gifts for Paris Tout P’tits, a charity supporting families in need with young children, many of whom are refugees. This is a wonderful way to share the warmth and joy of the holiday season with those who need it most. Come lend a hand and help us spread some holiday cheer!
