Thank you and Goodbye to Dean James and Eli Harlan!
Today we came together as a community in gratitude and thanksgiving for the ministry of Dean James and Eli Harlan at the Cathedral, in the Convocation, and further afield. Dean James retires after 30 years of service to the Church in ordained ministry, and as the eleventh dean of the Cathedral. He will continue as a priest canonically resident in the Convocation, and will remain engaged with the work of the College for Congregational Development.
We send Dean James and Eli into the next stage of their lives with our thanks, gratitude, love, and prayers.

Celebrating Black History Month at the Cathedral
Black History Month, an annual observance in February in the United States (and at other times for other countries), honors the significant contributions and rich heritage of people of African descent. We embrace this opportunity to celebrate and reflect on our diverse and global community. By engaging in reflection, education, and celebration of the African diaspora, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering an environment where everyone’s story is valued. As we recognize the beauty of unity in diversity, we take another step toward becoming the Beloved Community that God calls us to be. Black History Month is not just a remembrance of the past; it is a call to celebrate and live out the promise of today.

Point d’Orgue: An Unexpectedly Early Farewell!
Make a Joyful Noise!...well, not so much at the moment. In fact, our beloved Cavaillé-Coll organ has gone completely silent, well before we had expected. We knew that the instrument was in a very fragile state, hence the Make a Joyful Noise project to renew and restore it. To find out more, read our latest edition of Point d’Orgue.
