Welcome to the Venerable Dr. Walter Baer
We are delighted to announce that the Venerable Dr. Walter Baer will be the celebrant for our 11:00 a.m. service on Sunday, September 15th and the preacher on Sunday, September 22nd.
The Venerable Dr. Walter Baer is Archdeacon of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe. His work is concentrated in the areas of transition ministry, assisting the bishop in congregational and clergy care, liaising with convocation commissions and committees, organizing clergy events and convocation programming. He represents the Convocation to the wider Episcopal Church in various administrative areas and in ecumenical and interfaith dialogues. His office is in the convocation office at the cathedral in Paris, where he occasionally assists at services. Archdeacon Baer is currently vice president of Province II of the Episcopal Church (known as the International Atlantic Province of the Episcopal Church), composed of the Episcopal dioceses in New York, New Jersey, Europe, Haiti, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. He represents Europe as part of the deputation to the General Convention, and also serves on the Episcopal Church’s Standing Commission for Ecumenical & Interreligious Relations.
Ordained deacon and priest in the Diocese of Milwaukee in 1985, he has served in four dioceses. A native of Wisconsin, with Swiss and Austrian heritage, he currently makes his home with his husband Peter in Saint-Malo and Vienna.
