Dr Timothy Thompson
Before moving to Paris in 2015, Timothy Thompson lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania working at the University of Pittsburgh as Assistant Director of Admissions – International and then Associate Director of the European Union Center of Excellence and European Studies Center. He earned his PhD in Social and Comparative Analysis of Education with a dissertation on European higher education reform – The Bologna Process. In Pittsburgh, Timothy was an active member of Calvary Episcopal Church, serving on the Parish Council.
Previously, Timothy was the Director of the International Language Institute at Saint Vincent College (Latrobe, Pennsylvania) and Seton Hill University (Greensburg, Pennsylvania).
After completing a Master of Science degree in 1974, Timothy served in Afghanistan in the Peace Corps, where he taught English for Afghan government lycées in Sheberghan (1974-1976) and Kabul, (1976-1977). He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Lake Forest College, Illinois, during which he studied abroad at Trinity College, Oxford.
Timothy is married to Franck Ginchelot. Timothy’s daughter lives in Alexandria, Virginia and works at Episcopal High School.
