On the Sunday we celebrate the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, Cathedral parishioner Stephen Squire reflects on the life of St Francis and its ethical imperatives for a planet in peril. Beyond the “Blessing of Animals,” what would Francis have us do to heal the creation and address the environmental crisis? Stephen will draw on his recent pilgrimage to Assisi and his study of Francis’ life. He also serves as the chair of the Environmental Concerns Task Force for the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe, and is an advocate for the Cathedral being “carbon neutral,” as recommended by the Convention of the Convocation.
