Cathedral Forum: The Story of Our Processional Cross

“Endure hardships as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” The celebration of All Saints’ Day 1922 at the American Church of the Holy Trinity, which was shortly to become a pro-cathedral, featured the presentation of new processional cross to commemorate the service of Rogers Israel, the first Bishop of the Diocese of Erie and the first to act as Bishop-in-Charge of the Convocation of American Churches. In this Forum, Cathedral Docent and parishioner Dennis Grove looks at the history of the extraordinary individuals involved in this gift and explains the symbolism of our recently restored, and now century-old, processional cross.

This is a hybrid forum; please join us in the Parish Hall or on Zoom. Email Bill Tompson at william.tompson@gmail.com to receive your Zoom invitation.
