The Inward Journey: An Introduction to the Life, Ministry, and Theology of Howard Thurman
Join Canon Katz for an introduction to the ministry, theology and legacy of Howard Thurman. Known as “the chaplain to the civil rights movement,” Thurman lived an extraordinary life that began in rural Florida and took him literally across the globe. The depth of his spirituality has nourished generations of activists on the front lines of advancing the cause of justice and human dignity, and provided theological grounding to the demand for systemic change. Together, we will briefly examine his biography and explore excerpts from his seminal works.
