Cathedral Forum: Vocation and Calling

  • The American Cathedral in Paris 23 Avenue George V Paris, IDF, 75008 France (map)

Join our visiting priest, the Rev. Lissa Smith, Canon Pastor at Christ Cathedral, Nashville, to discuss vocation and calling in the Cathedral Forum on Oct. 22 and Oct. 29.

Based on the principles of great thinkers and theologians, we will begin to explore the concept of vocation. We will explore our own gifts and talents, and the church's mission in this moment, and our ability and responsibility to serve. We will begin to discern our individual and shared vocations, starting with Lissa sharing her vocation as an end-of-life care provider. In the second week, we will discuss call, which is only possible once we have begun to realize who we are and whose we are.

We will explore how we might stake our claim at the American Cathedral in Paris and participate in the gospel imperatives coming from this place. We will learn about particular ministries of the church, and the ones we want to create, beginning with pastoral care and expanding from there. Please join us for this 2-part series where we will discuss the importance of being the hands and feet of Christ, sharing our gifts and bringing about the kingdom in our time.

This is a hybrid forum; please join us in the Parish Hall or on Zoom.
