Cathedral Forum | Reflections on Spirituals and Justice

  • The American Cathedral in Paris 23 Avenue George V Paris, IDF, 75008 France (map)

As part of our work with Beloved Community, join us this Sunday to explore the legacy of the Spirituals with Kim Powell. Guided by "Face to the Rising Sun” by Rev. Mark Bozzuti-Jones and "The Songs My Grandma Sang,” by Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, we will reflect on the words, music, and powerful messages embedded in the spirituals. These songs of resilience, courage, faith, and freedom call us to repent the injustices of slavery and rejoice in the hope of a better future. Come learn, sing, and be empowered to walk in the Way of Love.

Our Cathedral Forum series provides occasions to discuss topics ranging from politics to spirituality, economics, and literature, with fascinating guest speakers. The Forum seeks to help parishioners deepen their understanding of Christian faith and life, drawing on scripture, reason and tradition to understand its relevance to our lives and to our world, attentive to God's hand in the co-evolution of our world and of our church.

This is a hybrid forum; please join us in the Parish Hall or on Zoom.
