Les Dimanches Musicaux: Le Fil d’Or

  • The American Cathedral in Paris 23 Avenue George V Paris, IDF, 75008 France (map)

“Le Fil d’Or” is a new ensemble focusing on the performance of 15th and 16th century vocal polyphony, in particular English sacred music of this period.

In our first concert in March 2023 we presented typical examples of the quality and complexity of this distinctly English style, which reached its apogee at the turn of the 15th century in famous manuscripts such as the Eton Choir Book, the Lambeth Choir Book and the Caius Choir Book, among others.

After a successful and well-received concert at St Pierre de Montmartre, the ensemble returns in September 2023 to give the opening concert of the season with a program to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the great English composer, William Byrd.

In 2024, the group pays tribute to Robert White and Stanford, whose anniversaries fall in the same year.

Le Fil d’Or consists of eight to ten singers, directed by Lewis Hammond.

Join us for LAGV’s popular concert series, created to showcase talented musicians. Entrance is free. Donations, which go towards supporting the Music Program at the Cathedral, are gratefully accepted.
