Cathedral Forum | St Paul, pioneer and model for stewardship

  • The American Cathedral in Paris 23 Avenue George V Paris, IDF, 75008 France (map)

"For God loves a cheerful giver", the theme for our 2024 stewardship season was inspired and has been animated by verse 7 from chapter 9 of St Paul's 2nd letter to the Corinthians.

Whilst a short chapter, Paul's message to Christians in the church of Corinth is rich and profoundly enlightening for our stewardship and giving.

During this Cathedral forum, Canon Hailey Jacobsen and Chris Barnes, stewardship co-chair, will exchange and actively engage with forum attendees to reflect on the major convictions Paul develops in chapter 9:

Commitment, the call to give, the heart of the giver, spiritual gains, generosity, God the Provider, connectivity between giver & receiver.

As we enter into the season of Lent and personal meditation, here is an opportunity to listen to God's Word and what He is saying to us regarding stewardship and our giving.

Please would all attendees read the chapter & come with the text

Our Cathedral Forum series provides occasions to discuss topics ranging from politics to spirituality, economics, and literature, with fascinating guest speakers. The Forum seeks to help parishioners deepen their understanding of Christian faith and life, drawing on scripture, reason and tradition to understand its relevance to our lives and to our world, attentive to God's hand in the co-evolution of our world and of our church.

This is a hybrid forum; please join us in the Parish Hall or on Zoom.
