The gospels are full of moments when Jesus heals people, often by putting a different spin on the story He is told about them. Michael White, an Australian social worker and therapist, put this attitude at the heart of his “narrative practice”, giving people – especially those who were ill, outcast, or of low social status – the right and the means to tell their own stories rather than having their lives explained by others. Parishioner Jocelyn Phelps proposes to share some of White’ s insights and to explore one of his practices with Forum participants.
Our Cathedral Forum series provides occasions to discuss topics ranging from politics to spirituality, economics, and literature, with fascinating guest speakers. The Forum seeks to help parishioners deepen their understanding of Christian faith and life, drawing on scripture, reason and tradition to understand its relevance to our lives and to our world, attentive to God's hand in the co-evolution of our world and of our church.
This is a hybrid forum; please join us in the Parish Hall or on Zoom.
