On this first Sunday in Lent, Canon Liz Hendrick and parishioner Bill Tompson will share some personal reflections on the season of Lent and the ways we can use it to draw closer to Jesus, inviting others to do the same. What is Lent and why do we observe it? How do you observe it? And with what effect on your life and your spiritual journey? How can we use Lent not just as a time of penitence but as a preparation to renew our ministry to one another and the world? Come join us as we look at the ways in which we can use Lent to prepare ourselves for Easter, when we renew our baptismal vows – our commitment, as individuals, to our vocations as Jesus’ disciples – and for Pentecost, Pentecost we renew our collective vocation, our commitment as a Church to be His body on earth.
Our Cathedral Forum series provides occasions to discuss topics ranging from politics to spirituality, economics, and literature, with fascinating guest speakers. The Forum seeks to help parishioners deepen their understanding of Christian faith and life, drawing on scripture, reason and tradition to understand its relevance to our lives and to our world, attentive to God's hand in the co-evolution of our world and of our church.
This is a hybrid forum; please join us in the Parish Hall or on Zoom.
