This Forum introduces a recent groundbreaking handbook (in French) which consists of 30 contributions (Jewish, Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox) that tackle the shift in understanding regarding the abiding presence of the Synagogue alongside the Church. How have Christians moved towards a teaching of esteem, forsaking centuries of contempt? How does the Jewish-Christian friendship affect our liturgy, teaching and preaching? What shifts can be seen on the Jewish side? Two of the co-editors, William Krisel, a Jewish scholar of the Hebrew Bible at the Institut catholique de Paris, and Anne Marie Reijnen, Professor at the Faculté Universitaire de Théologie Protestante de Bruxelles will present the book and discuss it with parishioner Rémy Bethmont, Professor of British History and Civilisation at the Université Paris 8.
