This Sunday we will commemorate the annual Feast of St. Francis, joining with church communities all around the world in celebrating this occasion with a Blessing of the Animals. Bring along your pet, pet photos and stuffed animals! See below for photos from our 2023 Blessing of the Animals service.
We are delighted to welcome the Rev. Dr. Julie Faith Parker as our preacher.
Children and young people will be invited to stand around the altar during the Eucharistic Rite, so that they can see it up close. If they feel shy, not to worry - they may bring an adult with them. And they will be allowed to wiggle and wriggle!
Our new prayground will also be available. We invite you to explore the space nearest the pulpit which has been transformed into a “Prayground” - a soft space with quieter activities for our littlest churchgoers to wiggle, explore, and be their full selves during each service with the whole community.
This does not replace our other offerings for children, such as the Nursery, Sunday School, the Children’s Worship Table, and worshiping in the pews, but is another option from which families can choose what best works for them at any given time.
Many thanks to the children, youth and members of the 20s&30s Ministry who will be baking almond cookies in honor of the Feast of St Francis for Sunday's coffee hour. We encourage you to take an extra cookie to share with a friend.
